Brumos Racing Announces Addition of Riley Chassis
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (July 10, 2006) -- Brumos Racing owner Bob Snodgrass announced today the purchase of two Riley Technologies MKXI chassis. These chassis's will be powered by the current Porsche 3.8 liter engines. The first of the two Brumos Racing Rileys will debut in Red Bull No. 58 livery at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala. on July 30, 2006 for the Porsche 250 race. The second Riley will appear at Infineon Raceway on August 26, 2006 in the famous No. 59 BRUMOS RACING white, red and blue livery. No driver changes for either car are forthcoming.
"Our goal is to add Riley to our overall team efforts and continue to the development of the FABCAR chassis which we began with in 2003," said Snodgrass.
"With the addition of the Riley cars we can commit further development time away from the race weekends for our FABCAR chassis." Dave Klym, owner and designer of FABCAR said, " I would like to thank Brumos Racing for the opportunity to further develop the FABCAR chassis and with the time now available we can work on the parts of the chassis that we have identified and test our updated configurations in conjunction with Grand American's rules. I look forward to setting some more records with FABCAR as we did when the Daytona Prototype class started in 2003," said Klym referring to the facts that it was a FABCAR that won the first overall win in a Daytona Prototype as well as first team to have a one-two finish overall and win five races in a season.
Brumos Racing will continue the 2006 season with both a FABCAR and Riley chassis for the next two races and finish the season's last two races in Riley MKXIs.
